The ADvTECH Schools Division leads the private sector in the field of education, contributing meaningfully towards the sustainable development of human capacity in South Africa.

Duties required:

To be responsible for all duties as required of a Classroom Assistant.
To uphold the ethos of the school;
To assist in providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for babies.
To support the implementation of age-appropriate developmental activities that promote physical, cognitive, social, and emotional growth.
To assist with daily care routines, including feeding, nappy changing, sleeping, and hygiene practices.
To ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children in the classroom at all times.
To observe and monitor each child’s development and communicate any concerns to the lead teacher.
To assist with maintaining a clean, organised, and welcoming classroom environment.
To work effectively together as a team towards the success of the school;
To follow a well-designed daily programme;
To participate in any general events that take place during the year;
To support the school’s philosophy of learning through play and exploration.
To assist with preparing resources and materials required for daily activities.
To maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Competencies/Skills/Requirements:

Excellent interpersonal skills with colleagues, pupils and parents;
Energetic, self-motivated and able to use own initiative;
Ability to work within a team;
Good organisational skills;
Good communication skills
Excellent rapport with babies and young children.
Ability to remain calm and responsive in a busy classroom environment.
Understanding of child development and age-appropriate practices for infants.

Qualifications:

Minimum requirement is a Matric Certificate.

Experience:

Previous experience working with babies or young children in a similar environment is essential.
Experience in an educational or childcare setting will be advantageous.
