Junior Graphic Designer | Sportsmans Warehouse

We are looking for a dynamic and passionate Junior Graphic Designer who is ready to immerse themselves in the Marketing retail world. You’ll join our energetic and creative team at our Head Office in Cape Town, and will report to the Head of Creative & Marketing Manager(s)

Key Responsibilities

· Assist in the design and execution of in-store creative assets across platforms, including:

o promotional signage / category signage

o Designing display stands and product merchandising units

o event and activation materials

o Designing shelf strips, shelf edging, and price communication materials

o window displays/ large-format graphics

o point-of-sale (POS) materials

o packaging displays

o Ensuring compliance with brand guidelines and retail standards

o Assist HR and Head Office engagement collateral.

o Supporting visual merchandising teams with creative assets

· Support the Head of Creative and wider creative team in bringing concepts to life from initial briefing through to final execution.

· Adapt, resize, and refine creative assets for various formats and platforms while maintaining brand consistency and high visual standards.

Experience

· Recently completed a degree or diploma in Graphic Design or Visual Communication, or a related field, OR

· Up to 1 year of experience in a corporate, agency, or in-house creative environment (or equivalent practical experience).

Technical Skills

Working knowledge of:

· Adobe Creative Suite, specifically:

o InDesign

o Illustrator

o Photoshop

· Figma

· Basic understanding of graphic design best practices, including layout, typography, colour, and composition.

Creative & Personal Attributes

· Visually creative with a strong eye for detail and design.

· Adaptable, eager to learn, and open to constructive feedback.

· Able to think quickly and problem-solve in a fast-moving retail environment.

· Detail-oriented while still understanding the bigger picture and long-term brand and business goals.

· Passion for design, branding, and retail trends (interest in the sporting industry is an advantage).

Collaboration & Team Support

Work closely with:

· Digital Designer

· Video & Motion Designer

· Brand Managers

· Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, eCommerce, and Retail teams.

· Take creative direction positively and apply feedback efficiently and professionally.

Nice-to-Have (Not Essential)

· Basic knowledge of motion, animation, or video formats.

· Exposure to retail or eCommerce design environments.
