VACANCY – MAINTENANCE FITTER
Join the Team at Specialised Aquatic Feeds
Specialised Aquatic Feeds is seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Fitter to join our manufacturing team. This role is ideal for a hands-on individual with strong technical expertise and experience in a production environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
1) Perform routine inspections and scheduled maintenance on production machinery
2) Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs or part replacements
3) Conduct lubrication, alignment, and adjustments to minimise downtime
4) Ensure all machinery and equipment operate efficiently and safely
Production Support
1) Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns
2) Work closely with production teams to resolve operational issues
3) Support daily production targets by ensuring equipment reliability
4) Carry out setups and changeovers accurately according to specifications
Safety & Compliance
1) Adhere to all company safety standards and lockout procedures
2) Ensure maintenance activities comply with GMP and food safety standards
3) Maintain a clean and organised maintenance workshop and production area
4) Manage and maintain maintenance tools and specialised equipment
Record Keeping & Reporting
1) Maintain accurate maintenance and breakdown records
2) Report recurring equipment issues and recommend improvements
3) Assist with maintenance schedules and checklists
Equipment Installation & Improvement
1) Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment
2) Modify machinery and systems to improve efficiency and safety
3) Perform general maintenance of buildings and surrounding areas
4) Participate in continuous improvement and energy-saving initiatives
5) Support apprentices through training and guidance
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1) Qualified Artisan – Mechanical or Electrical
2) Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment
3) Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
4) Ability to work independently and under pressure
5) Good verbal communication and decision-making skills
6) Strong attention to quality and safety standards
7) High level of integrity and accountability
8) Willingness to work weekends, public holidays, standby shifts, and overtime when required
