*Laser Machine Operator*
1. *Machine Setup & Operation* - Load and unload material sheets/plates onto the laser bed using forklift or crane - Set up Trumpf, Bystronic, or other CNC laser cutters based on job specs - Upload DXF/CAD/CAM programs and nest parts for best material usage - Select correct assist gases: oxygen, nitrogen, compressed air for mild steel, stainless, aluminum - Adjust cutting parameters: power, speed, frequency, focal point for different thicknesses ### 2. *Quality Control* - Run first-off inspection using calipers, micrometers, tape measure - Check cut quality for dross, burn marks, dimensional accuracy to ±0.1mm - Identify and correct issues with focus, nozzle alignment, or gas pressure - Complete job cards and production logs for each shift ### 3. *Maintenance & Housekeeping* - Daily cleaning of lens, nozzle, and machine bed - Replace consumables: nozzles, ceramics, protective windows - Basic troubleshooting of machine alarms and sensor faults - Report major breakdowns to maintenance team - Keep work area clean and follow 5S standards ### 4. *Safety & Compliance* - Follow lockout/tagout procedures during maintenance - Wear correct PPE: safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, safety boots - Handle material safely to prevent injury - Comply with company safety policies and ISO standards ### 5. *Other Key Duties* - Read and interpret engineering drawings and cutting lists - Track material usage and minimize scrap/waste - Meet daily production targets and deadlines - Assist with bending, deburring, or dispatch when needed - Train new operators on machine basics and safety
- Operated Trumpf TruLaser and Bystronic Fiber lasers to cut mild steel, stainless and aluminum - Set parameters and selected assist gases based on material type and thickness - Conducted first-off inspections to ensure ±0.1mm tolerance and quality standards - Performed daily machine maintenance, lens cleaning and nozzle changes - Adhered to safety protocols and maintained accurate production records.
Pay: R90,00 - R95,00 per hour
