Job Title: Accountant

Job Purpose
Assisting the Company in managing accounting transactions, financial reporting, and financial-related compliance and ad-hoc as required by the GFM.
Key Responsibilities
· Financial Accounting & Reporting
· Prepare and process accounting records up to Trial Balance.
· Perform general ledger reconciliations and month-end close activities.
· Review and oversee monthly financial accounts and provide structured feedback.
· Prepare and review monthly management reporting packs.
· Conduct income statement variance analysis and provide meaningful commentary.
· Assist with cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting.
· Prepare and submit VAT201 and EMP201 returns.
· Assist with audit preparation and liaise with external auditors.
· Perform ad hoc accounting, reconciliation, and reporting duties across the group.
· Financial Control & Compliance
· Verify and co-release payments.
· Review and validate accounting entries prepared by junior staff.
· Develop and maintain internal control measures that support effective financial management and compliance.
· Ensure all financial activities are completed accurately and within required deadlines.
· Financial Support & Risk Management
· Provide financial input and support to management decision-making.
· Identify, analyse, and communicate financial and strategic risks, including liquidity, currency, economic, and operational risks.
· Present financial and risk insights in a manner that enables informed and confident business decisions.
Minimum Requirements
· BCom Degree in Accounting or equivalent qualification.
· Completed articles (SAICA, SAIPA, or AGA).
· Membership with SAIPA or AGA (SAICA membership advantageous).
· 1–3 years post-articles experience in a similar accounting role (preferred).
Technical Skills
· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
· Experience with Sage 300 (Accpac) preferred.
· Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· Risk-aware with sound financial judgement.
· Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines consistently.
