IT Engineer (Multi-Site Support)
We are seeking a hands-on IT Engineer to manage and support multiple sites, acting as the primary escalation point for all IT-related matters. This role requires a practical, “get-your-hands-dirty” approach, supporting a wide range of infrastructure, systems, and users to ensure stable and efficient IT operations.
The ideal candidate will have solid experience with on-site server environments, virtualization, and Sage systems. Exposure to Thawte, CCTV, solar monitoring, telephony systems, and network infrastructure will be advantageous.
Main Accountabilities
IT Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide timely resolution of user and system issues across Windows and Microsoft Office (especially Outlook)
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network-related problems
- Minimise downtime and ensure business continuity
Systems Installation & Configuration
- Install, configure, and maintain IT hardware and software
- Support system rollouts, upgrades, and standardisation across multiple sites
System Maintenance & Monitoring
- Perform routine maintenance and proactively monitor system performance
- Ensure stability, security, and optimal operation of all IT systems
User Support
- Deliver responsive technical support to approximately 70 users
- Assist with system usage, POP mailboxes, and general IT queries
Infrastructure & Operations
- Support and maintain servers, virtualization platforms, and NAS devices
- Perform network cabling and basic firewall support
- Maintain and troubleshoot CCTV systems, solar monitoring, printers, and telephony systems
Asset & Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate IT asset records and manage equipment lifecycle
- Track allocation and usage of hardware and software
Governance & Compliance
- Adhere to IT policies, procedures, and security standards
- Maintain clear documentation and support audit requirements
Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
- Relevant certifications (e.g. CompTIA A+, N+, Microsoft) advantageous
Experience
- 5–8 years’ experience in IT support within a multi-site or enterprise environment
- Strong experience supporting end users across hardware, software, and network systems
- Proven ability in system installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance
- Experience with Sage systems and virtualization platforms
- Exposure to IT governance, deployments, and upgrades
