POSITION: CAD Operator
DEPARTMENT: Production
An exciting opportunity has become available in our business. The production department is seeking a practical and organised individual to join their team to assist in the administration of the production team.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
To create highly accurate, manufacturable technical drawings for our retail shopfitting products.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Document information on products (photos)
- Create detailed 2D production drawings and 3D models of shopfitting equipment using AutoCAD.
- Generate precise manufacturing drawings, including flat patterns for sheet metal and CNC routing files.
- Maintain and archive project drawing library, revisions and project files in a structured electronic document management system.
- Creating photoguides of all brands
- Assist in the development of prototypes, adjusting digital models based on physical testing and feedback from the factory floor
- Product research
JOB INCUMBENT REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 12
- Diploma in Interior Designing / Industrial Design/ Draughting or similar
- Minimum 2 years CAD Operator or Drafter. Previous experience in shopfitting, cabinetry, or retail fixture manufacturing will be an added advantage
- Strong organisational skills, ability to juggle various tasks and prioritise
- Expert knowledge in AutoCAD 2D & 3D
- Working under pressure
- Ability to read, interpret, and generate technical drawings
- Computer Literacy: G-Suite / MS Office Intermediate Level
- Competencies required: Exceptional attention to detail, problem solving skills, time management, high stress tolerance, strong communication skills
