The main purpose of this role will be to achieve operational excellence within the Dis-Chem Distribution centre incorporating functions in necessary areas, ensuring that both legal and customer requirements are met.

Essential:
-
Grade 12 / Matric
-
Degree/Diploma in Logistics or Supply Chain Management
-
Minimum 1-2 Years relevant experience in Distribution, Logistics or Supply Chain Environment
Advantageous:
-
Relevant experience in the field of Logistics/Supply Chain Management
-
Experience in the Retail/Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Experience with SAP, EWM or other ERP systems
Job Specification…
Planning:
-
Optimal planning and forecasting of department resources to meet the daily strategic objective defined by the quantity of orders in the system.
-
Ensure that customer orders and jabs are pulled daily and that Wave item clearing is maintained with no orders in excess of 2 days.
-
Ensure that the system is monitored and cleaned up by using the management tools available on SAP EWM.
-
Ensure that all stock is received and packed away and accurately maintained on the system.
-
Assist with implementation and optimization of new projects related to improving the efficiency of operations.
-
Ensure that all equipment is maintained and in safe operating conditions.
Planning and Deliveries:
-
Ensure optimal route and space planning to meet the day-to-day strategic objectives.
-
Understand and execute the planning process involved when stock leaves the distribution centre.
-
Ensure routing of vehicles to ensure optimum utilisation and vehicle turnaround times.
-
Ensure all orders that are picked and processed timeously and accurately and are delivered as per operational requirement.

Arrange returns and collection of the upliftment, which must be tracked throughout the return process.

Ensure drivers are debriefed, paperwork is filled and queries resolved.
-
Ensure admin and daily checking of all delivery log sheets takes place, to facilitate queries and credit note request.
Human Resource Management:
-
Report personnel problems by analysing data, investigating issues, and identifying solutions with Management and take corrective action.

Ensure all supervisors in department manage their staff efficiently.
-
Ensure training of new staff in that they have the necessary tools and equipment required to perform their duties efficiently.

Set employee goals and objectives in line with Management views.
-
Monitor staff performance and report to Management.
-
Work with Management to manage employees that do not comply with Dis-Chem Policies and procedures according to the disciplinary code.

Develop an environment that creates, maintains or improves the ability to carry out work related obligations.

Responsible for the succession planning of subordinates.
Administration:
-
Efficient and accurate administration, filling and reporting for transactional excellence.

Management and adherence to GWP, SHE program and OHS act.
-
Document and revise department standard operating procedures and system instructions where required.

Ensure department’s consumable needs are met.
Customer Service:
- Effective and efficient resolution and communication of internal and external customer day-to-day queries.

Build and maintain good relationships with all 3rd party stakeholders and communicate effectively to resolve any supply chain issues.

Ensure that all deliveries are delivered in full, on time and to the correct customer.
Security and Operating Costs:

Prevent and act on security or risk issues and ensure that risks are dealt with proactively.

Ability to analyse and interpret any shrinkage indicators and work with Management to act accordingly.

Be security conscious all the time and avoid committing theft or fraud.
