Full Job Description

HVAC TECHNICIAN WANTEDPart-Time Position with Opportunity for Full-Time Employment

Henkatronics Technologies Services is seeking a skilled and dependable HVAC Technician to join our growing team. This position is initially part-time, with the opportunity to transition into a permanent full-time role for the right candidate.

We are looking for a technician with hands-on experience in air conditioning, refrigeration, chillers, and cold room systems who takes pride in delivering quality workmanship and excellent customer service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Installation, maintenance, and repair of air conditioning systems (split units, cassette units, ducted systems, VRF systems, etc.)
Troubleshooting and repairing HVAC and refrigeration equipment
Routine servicing and preventative maintenance
Installation, maintenance, and repair of chillers and cold rooms
Refrigerant charging, leak detection, pressure testing, and commissioning
Attending emergency breakdowns and service call-outs when required
Completing service reports and providing feedback on completed work
Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in accordance with industry standards

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

✔ Proven HVAC industry experience

✔ Strong knowledge of air conditioning, refrigeration, chillers, and cold rooms

✔ Ability to diagnose faults and carry out repairs independently

✔ Good communication and problem-solving skills

✔ Professional attitude and strong work ethic

✔ Must reside in the Northern Suburbs, West Coast, Paarl, Wellington, or surrounding areas

ADVANTAGEOUS QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

SAQCC Refrigeration Registration
Valid Driver's License
Experience working on commercial HVAC systems
Electrical fault-finding and control systems knowledge
Experience with preventative maintenance contracts

REMUNERATION

We offer a flexible remuneration structure designed to provide stability during quieter periods and reward productivity during busier months.

Guaranteed basic remuneration of R6,500 per month during quieter months.
During busier periods, technicians who work 13 days or more in a calendar month will be remunerated at a rate of R550 per day worked.
Opportunity for growth into a permanent full-time position based on performance, reliability, and company growth.

SELECTION PROCESS

Shortlisted candidates may be invited for an interview and practical assessment.

Candidates selected for appointment will receive a conditional offer of employment, subject to the successful submission and verification of:

SAQCC Registration Certificate (where applicable)
Valid Driver's License
Relevant Trade Qualifications and Certifications
References from previous employers
Any additional supporting documentation requested by the company
