Full Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Lab Technician to join our team. As a Lab Technician, you will play a crucial role in performing laboratory tests and ensuring quality control. Your expertise will contribute to the success of our organisation by maintaining accurate records, adhering to safety regulations, and conducting experiments. This position will be a hands-on role and is an ideal position for an individual searching for a career opportunity to gain experience in a dynamic and rapidly growing agricultural company.

Main Responsibilities

Conduct laboratory tests and experiments using specialised equipment and techniques
Analyse and interpret test results, documenting findings accurately
Operate laboratory equipment and instruments, ensuring proper calibration and maintenance
Maintain accurate records of all tests, experiments, and procedures performed
Conduct quality control tests to ensure product consistency and compliance with industry standards
Assist with the preparation of samples
Perform routine analyses
The operation, basic maintenance, and cleaning of laboratory equipment
Practice safe work habits and create a safe working environment
Ad hoc or other related duties as assigned

Able to carefully plan, organise and prioritise tasks
Excellent attention to detail
Able to work well independently and as part of a team
Flexible and adjustable to the laboratory needs
Able to maintain high standards under pressure
Responsible, self-motivating and dedicated
Effective communication skills, including the ability to understand and execute instructions
Able to follow through on tasks, report accordingly and in a timely manner
High levels of cleanliness and honesty

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

BSc Degree or relevant National Diploma or B.Tech

Experience

Experience in a laboratory working environment would advantageous

Other specific requirements

Fully bilingual (Afrikaans and English)
High proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
