Full Job Description

Position Overview

A general medical practice in Strand is seeking a versatile, highly organized Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse. This unique role combines clinical expertise, frontline reception coordination, and practice administration duties.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care

Perform triage, wound care, phlebotomy, and vitals tracking.

Assist doctors with minor surgical procedures and medical assessments.

Manage clinical stock, order medical supplies, and maintain cold chain protocols.

Reception & Patient Relations

Welcoming patients and managing frontline inquiries with empathy.

Coordinating patient bookings, walk-ins, and emergency triage.

Answering phones, managing emails, and routing correspondence.

Practice Management

Overseeing daily clinic operations and assisting with dispensing of acute medication.

Managing medical billing, processing medical aid claims, and handling day-end cash ups.

Maintaining accurate electronic health records (EHR) and patient files.

Ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and health and safety standards.

Requirements

Qualification: Degree or Diploma in Nursing.

Registration: Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).

Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a GP practice, hospital or outpatient clinic environment.

Administrative Skills: Strong computer literacy and experience with medical billing.

Languages: Fluency in English and Afrikaans is essential to serve the local community.

Attributes: Exceptional multitasking abilities, strong leadership skills, and a calm demeanor under pressure.

What We Offer

Competitive salary based on qualifications and experience.

Working hours: Monday to Friday 8.30 - 13.30 and two Saturdays/month 8.00 - 13.00.
