Full Job Description

Career Growth Hospitality Recruitment are looking for an experienced Senior Sous Chef to join a prestigious luxury hospitality property in the heart of Stellenbosch.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and hands-on culinary professional who thrives in a high-end kitchen environment. Working closely with the Executive Chef, you will play a key role in leading the kitchen brigade, maintaining exceptional food standards, and creating memorable dining experiences for guests.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Executive Chef in the day-to-day management of the kitchen
Lead, motivate and develop the kitchen team
Ensure exceptional food quality, consistency and presentation
Assist with menu planning, recipe development and seasonal offerings
Maintain excellent food safety, hygiene and HACCP standards
Manage stock control, ordering and minimise food waste
Monitor kitchen costs while maintaining quality standards
Ensure smooth service during busy meal periods
Assist with training and mentoring junior chefs
Step into the Executive Chef's role when required

Requirements

Previous experience as a Senior Sous Chef or strong Sous Chef within a luxury hotel, estate or fine dining restaurant
Excellent leadership and people management skills
Passion for delivering exceptional food and guest experiences
Strong organisational and communication skills
Good knowledge of food costing, stock control and kitchen administration
Excellent understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
Calm and professional under pressure
A positive attitude with a hands-on approach
