We are seeking an experienced Wills & Estates Paralegal Assistant to support an Australian legal practice with client communication, legal documentation, file administration and daily operations.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Wills & Estates Paralegal Assistant to provide remote legal and administrative support to an Australian wills and estates law firm.

The successful candidate will assist with daily operations, client communication, legal documentation and file administration. This role requires practical wills and estates experience, strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently while following established legal processes and templates.

Key responsibilities include:

Answering and directing client calls professionally
Scheduling appointments and managing calendars
Following up with clients regarding documents and outstanding information
Assisting with basic wills and estates administration and processing
Preparing documents using approved legal templates
Taking accurate meeting minutes and maintaining case notes
Organising electronic client files and legal records
Monitoring deadlines and following up on outstanding actions
Providing general administrative support to the legal team
Handling confidential client and legal information appropriately

Requirements

Based in South Africa
Available to work 20 hours per week during AWST office hours
Previous wills and estates experience
Law degree preferred
Candidates without a law degree must have strong, relevant paralegal experience.
Previous experience supporting a law firm or legal professional
Understanding of legal terminology, document preparation and file management
Strong written and spoken English
Professional and confident telephone manner
Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow legal templates accurately
Strong organisation, time management and follow-up skills
Ability to work independently in a fully remote position
Reliable computer, stable internet connection and backup connectivity
Commitment to maintaining client confidentiality

Experience supporting an Australian, UK or other international legal practice will be highly regarded.

20 hours of work per week
Competitive rate of $10–$12 AUD per hour
