Job Description – Bakery Specialist
Location: East Rand

This role is designed to provide leadership and specialist support to the operations ensuring operational efficiency, innovation, and profitability. With room to grow within this vibrant and dynamic environment, you'll play a critical part in shaping one of the franchise's standout departments.

Key Performance Areas:

Relationship Development: Cultivate strong, productive relationships with East Rand's management, staff, and customers to enhance the bakery's position as a key contributor to store success.
Bakery Operations Leadership: Offer expert advice on every aspect of bakery management, including layout, product display, promotions, supply chain, production planning, staffing, and best practices for profitability.
Training & Development: Assess and deliver in-house training to bakery staff, ensuring they are equipped with top-tier skills and techniques.
Compliance & Safety: Conduct hygiene and safety inspections while ensuring adherence to current legislation around food safety, labelling, and consumer protection.
Product Innovation: Lead product development initiatives by introducing new lines and concepts that keep the East Rand Bakery at the forefront of market trends.
Problem-Solving: Provide actionable strategies and troubleshooting solutions to address operational challenges and improve overall performance.
Financial Acumen: Develop initiatives that improve profitability and value-added services while maintaining a customer-centric approach.

Minimum Requirements:

Valid driver’s license.
Matric certificate.
Bakery-related qualification.
At least 5 years of bakery experience, preferably in a managerial role.
Expertise in product sourcing, equipment planning, and workflow optimization.
Strong understanding of bakery trends and evolving market conditions.
Excellent technical, training, and coaching skills.
Proven business acumen with a focus on profitability and operational efficiency.
