Crew Fleet Member
Transportation of UPP finished goods and raw materials by road between manufacturing plants, remote customer sites, retail operations and / or distribution centres. Inspection of vehicles for mechanical and safety issues and the performance of preventative maintenance. Planning of routes and meeting delivery schedules.
Job tasks and responsibilities
On time delivery, Fuel Efficiencies, Road safety Compliance. Vehicle Utilisation
· Inspection of vehicles for mechanical and safety issues and the performance of preventative maintenance.
·Transportation of UPP finished goods and raw materials by road between manufacturing plants, remote customer sites, retail operations and / or distribution centres
· Planning of routes and meeting delivery schedules.
· Documenting and logging work / rest periods and km’s spent driving and retaining fuel / toll receipts.
Inputting “macros” into our automated system for each stage of the loading and unloading process.
· Complying with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
· Manoeuvring trucks into loading or unloading positions.
Collecting and verify delivery instructions.
Knowledge and skills required
A truck driver should possess good communication, customer service, and judgment skills. A truck driver must have excellent eyesight and hearing and be in good & healthy physical condition. Must have good driving and reversing skill and be able to manoeuvre truck in and out of tight area’s
