Position: Warehouse In-Charge
Location: Midrand.

Senior Manager (Warehouses and Logistics)
Purpose of the Role
The Warehouse In-Charge is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring stock accuracy, process compliance, operational efficiency, and maintaining a world-class warehouse environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing inventory, bin locations, WMS transactions, receiving, dispatch, and staff supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
- Manage daily warehouse activities including receiving, binning, picking, packing, dispatch, and returns.
- Ensure all stock movements are accurately processed in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Monitor warehouse productivity and operational performance.
- Ensure customer orders are processed accurately and within agreed service levels.
Warehouse Management System (WMS)
- Operate and maintain a fully integrated WMS environment.
- Ensure all stock transactions are completed accurately and timeously.
- Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies between physical stock and system records.
- Assist with barcode scanning and system-driven warehouse processes.
Inventory & Bin Location Control
- Establish and maintain intelligent warehouse layouts and bin location structures.
- Ensure all stock is correctly binned and easily traceable.
- Manage stock relocations and warehouse optimization projects.
- Conduct regular location audits to maintain location accuracy.
- Drive continuous improvement in warehouse space utilization.
Stock Control
- Ensure high levels of inventory accuracy.
- Conduct cycle counts and assists with annual stock counts.
- Investigate stock variances and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain strict stock control procedures to minimize losses.
Team Leadership
- Supervise warehouse staff and allocate daily tasks.
- Monitor staff productivity and adherence to procedures.
- Provide training, coaching, and guidance to warehouse employees.
- Promote discipline, accountability, and teamwork within the warehouse.
Health, Safety & Housekeeping
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards throughout the warehouse.
- Ensure safe operation of warehouse equipment and machinery.
- Report and address any safety risks immediately.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Matric (Grade 12) essential.
- Supply Chain, Logistics, Warehousing, or related qualification will be advantageous.
Experience
- Minimum 3 to 5 years' warehouse supervisory or warehouse management experience.
- Proven experience working within a fully integrated Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Experience in setting up warehouse layouts, rack structures, and bin location systems.
- Strong inventory control and stock management experience.
- Experience in automotive aftermarket, distribution, or FMCG environments will be advantageous.
