M-Sure is seeking to employ a qualified and experienced Internal Auditor. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and highly skilled Finance Team.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Financial Director.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Internal auditor is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, validity, and contractual compliance of authorised service, maintenance, and extended warranty claims across dealership networks. The role focuses on auditing claim files, identifying financial risk, ensuring adherence to manufacturer requirements, and preventing fraudulent or non-compliant submissions through onsite and remote audits.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Compliance & Regulatory Governance

Ensure compliance with applicable financial services and insurance regulations.

Monitor adherence to Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles.

Ensure compliance with claims governance frameworks and internal policies.

Review outsourced service provider compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.

Monitor adherence to data privacy, information protection, and information security requirements.

Audit & Claims Assurance
-
Conduct onsite and remote audits of service, maintenance, and extended warranty claims.

Verify the completeness and authenticity of supporting documentation, including job cards, invoices, customer complaints, and diagnostic reports.

Review technical information such as vehicle mileage, diagnostic findings, labour times, and test results.

Ensure claims comply with manufacturer requirements, policy terms, and approval processes.

Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of controls within the claims management process.

Risk Management & Financial Control
-
Identify invalid, duplicate, inaccurate, premature, or potentially fraudulent claims.

Verify that repairs were completed within approved authorisation parameters.

Process write-backs and claim reversals for non-compliant submissions.
-
Investigate vehicle registration discrepancies and apply penalties or reversals where required.

Identify control weaknesses and recommend corrective actions to mitigate operational and financial risks.

Fraud Risk Management
-
Identify indicators of fraud, misrepresentation, or abuse within claims submissions.

Investigate suspicious claims patterns and escalate findings in accordance with established procedures.

Support fraud prevention initiatives through audit findings and trend analysis.

Monitor compliance with fraud risk management policies and controls.
-
Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to implement corrective and preventative measures.

Customer Outcomes & Conduct Risk

Review claims decisions to ensure consistency, fairness, and compliance with policy terms and conditions.

Identify practices that may result in unfair customer outcomes or conduct risk concerns.

Evaluate customer complaints, disputes, and overturned decisions as indicators of potential control weaknesses.

Promote customer-centric outcomes through effective oversight of claims processes and decision-making.

Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement

Present audit findings to dealership management through formal debrief sessions.
-
Review appeals and corrective action plans submitted by dealerships.
-
Prepare comprehensive audit reports highlighting findings, risks, and recommendations.

Communicate final audit outcomes to senior stakeholders, including dealership leadership, Operations Directors, and Chief Financial Officers (CFOs).

Provide management with insights on emerging risks, trends, and control improvement opportunities.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Diploma or Degree in Internal Auditing, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, or a related field.

Automotive Warranty Administration certification (Advantageous)
-
Relevant automotive, insurance, compliance, risk management, or auditing qualifications (Advantageous)

Experience in internal auditing, warranty administration, claims auditing, or a related assurance function within the automotive industry.

Strong understanding of Service Plans, Maintenance Plans, and Extended Warranty products.

Knowledge of OEM policies, warranty procedures, and service standards.

Proficiency in Dealer Management Systems (DMS) and audit data extraction techniques.

Familiarity with technician clocking records, sublet supplier processes, and claims administration controls.

Understanding of financial services regulatory frameworks and conduct risk management principles.

Knowledge of governance, audit methodologies, and risk management practices.
-
Familiarity with data privacy, information protection, and outsourcing governance requirements.
SKILLS AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including reconciliations, pivot tables, lookups, and trend analysis.
