PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Head of Strategy is responsible for shaping, driving, and embedding the long-term strategic direction of Rand Refinery. The role ensures alignment between the organisation’s vision, market positioning, and operational execution to enable sustainable growth and competitive advantage.
SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDED BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
?Lead the development and implementation of corporate strategy aligned to organisational goals.
?Facilitate enterprise-wide strategic planning and translate strategy into business plans.
?Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and macroeconomic factors to inform decision-making.
?Identify and evaluate growth opportunities, including partnerships and investments.
?Oversee feasibility studies, business cases, and strategic initiatives.
?Monitor strategic performance through KPIs and track execution progress.
?Align strategy with operational delivery across all business units.
?Provide strategic insights and recommendations to Executive Committee and Board.
?Engage internal and external stakeholders to drive alignment and collaboration.
?Integrate ESG and sustainability considerations into business strategy.
?Drive digital transformation and innovation initiatives.
?Ensure continuous improvement in strategic processes and outcomes.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
?Completed Matric qualification.
?Postgraduate qualification in Business, Strategy, Economics, Finance, or related field (MBA preferred).
?Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in corporate strategy, consulting, or executive leadership role.
?Experience in mining, metals, commodities, or financial services (advantageous)
?Proven track record in developing and implementing enterprise-level strategy.
?Demonstrated experience engaging senior leadership and executive stakeholders.
?Proven ability to communicate strategic direction clearly and effectively.
