Apprentice: Mechanical Fitter

Location: Rustenburg

Work Arrangement: Onsite

What you’ll do

Mechanical Support: Assist Service Technicians daily with routine maintenance, repairs, and installation of mechanical equipment, ensuring smooth and reliable operations.
Hands-on Learning: Perform basic mechanical tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, assembling, and dismantling components under supervision to develop practical skills.
Inspection and Reporting: Conduct equipment inspections regularly and report any defects or abnormalities promptly to the supervising artisan to maintain safety and reliability.
Skills Development: Actively engage in learning and applying mechanical fitting skills aligned with training requirements and competency standards to progress towards qualification.
Training Compliance: Complete required training modules, maintain logbooks, and pass assessments within set timeframes to support long-term career growth.
Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.

What you’ll bring

Must-haves:

Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics and Physical Science or N3 in Mechanical Engineering.
Ability to read technical drawings.
Strong willingness to learn and develop mechanical fitting skills.
Commitment to safety and teamwork in a hands-on technical environment.

Nice-to-haves:

Background in a technical environment.
Valid Code 10 / C1 Driver’s License.
Previous exposure to mechanical maintenance or fitting tasks.
Reporting skills.
