Full Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Trade Tested Painter to join our team.

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 (Matric).
Valid Trade Test Certificate as a Painter.
Minimum 3 years' proven painting experience in industrial, commercial, construction, or maintenance environments.
Experience working in power stations, mines, or similar heavy industrial environments will be advantageous.
Valid medical certificate (where required).
Valid driver's licence will be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, filling, and priming.
Apply paint, varnish, epoxy, protective coatings, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
Mix paints and coatings according to specifications.
Inspect completed work to ensure a high-quality finish.
Maintain painting equipment and tools in good working condition.
Follow all safety procedures and use the required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Ensure work areas are kept clean and compliant with health and safety standards.

Skills and Competencies

Sound knowledge of painting techniques, products, and surface preparation.
Ability to interpret job specifications and technical instructions.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
