CapeNature is inviting applications for a Landscape Administrator position within Conservation Operations, Landscape South. The ideal candidate would be a dynamic and energetic person with excellent communication, analytical and reporting skills. The position will report to the Landscape Manager: South.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
KPA 1- Office Management and Administration
-
Provide administrative assistance to the Landscape Manager: assist with managing planning processes, meetings, workshops, and related documents, work plans, and processes.

To manage effective and efficient office administration, implement control systems for overall sound management.

Ensure all administrative functions are completed as per the agreed Performance Agreement
-
Ensure high quality of communication outputs and customer service by the Landscape Managers office: ensure effective communication with government agencies, partner organizations and within CapeNature.

Provide support within the South landscape for loss, asset, and stock management, and reporting thereof.
-
GMT administration for South landscape.
KPA 2 - Supply Chain Administration
-
Assist with supply chain queries for South landscape to ensure procurement is done within prescribed policies and regulations.

Implement systems of control for overall office management.
-
Maintain asset registers and manage assets according to CapeNature policy and procedures.
KPA 3 - Financial Accounting/Administration
-
Ensure recording of financial transactions and resolve accounting and financial issues.
-
Render a sound financial accounting service to the South landscape.
-
Budget monitoring and reporting.
-
Assist with the annual budget drafting and virements of South landscape budgets.
-
Implementing internal control systems and assisting South landscape with petty cash-related matters.
-
Ensuring internal and financial control measures are in place in the South landscape to ensure the integrity of financial information.

Month-end and year close process.
KPA 4 - Reporting
-
Monitoring & evaluation of Annual Performance Plan predetermined objective (PDO) reporting for South Landscape.

Assist with all reporting requirements of South landscape.
-
Monthly monitoring and reporting of ICM/NRM project status.

Draft and verify relevant reports for South landscape
KPA 5 - Client Liaison

Identify the needs/expectations of both internal and external customers and plan and deliver accordingly.

Provide support to the Landscape South Nature Reserves and other components.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
-
Appropriate/relevant formal qualification related to Administration and/or Finance or similar NQF level 7 qualification
-
A finance degree and completed articles would be preferred/advantageous
-
3 years post qualification experience in finance and administration
-
A valid code 8 driver’s license
-
Strong computer literacy (MS Office suite particularly MS Outlook, MS. Word, and MS Excel)

Good interpersonal and analytical skills.
-
Good verbal and written communication skills in two official languages of the Western Cape.

Understanding of PFMA and related public sector supply chain processes would be advantageous
