Quantity Surveyor / Estimator

Location: Pretoria, Gauteng
Company: Laygro (Pty) Ltd
Employment Type: Full-time

About Us

Laygro is a growing structural steel and construction company based in Pretoria, specialising in the fabrication and installation of structural steel, architectural steelwork, and commercial construction projects. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor/Estimator to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare accurate cost estimates and quotations from drawings and specifications.
Measure quantities and compile Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
Price tenders and assist with tender submissions.
Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
Procure materials and manage supplier relationships.
Prepare and manage project budgets and cost reports.
Identify and price contract variations.
Prepare payment claims and subcontractor valuations.
Monitor project costs and profitability.
Liaise with project managers, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Maintain accurate project and procurement records.

Minimum Requirements

Qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
2–5 years' relevant experience.
Experience in the construction or structural steel industry will be advantageous.
Ability to read and interpret construction and structural drawings.
Good understanding of tendering and procurement processes.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
Strong numerical and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
Valid driver's licence.

Preferred Skills

Experience with structural steel projects.
Knowledge of commercial construction contracts.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
Attention to detail and commitment to meeting deadlines.
