Commercial Fleet - Sales Manager

Purpose

The Commercial Fleet Manager is responsible for developing, managing and growing long-term relationships with commercial fleet customers, including truck, bus, logistics, mining and public transport operators.
The role focuses on driving revenue, contract retention and operational excellence by delivering competitive tyre pricing, professional fitment services, nationwide wholesale supply and reduced vehicle downtime through efficient coordination with operations.

Key Responsibilities

Identify, onboard and manage commercial fleet accounts across trucking, logistics, mining, municipal and public transport sectors
Build and sustain strong relationships with fleet owners, procurement managers, operations managers and technical decision-makers
Negotiate fleet pricing structures, service level agreements (SLAs), contracts and rebate agreements aligned with margin and volume targets
Serve as the primary point of contact for fleet customers, ensuring seamless coordination between sales, fitment, logistics and operations teams
Coordinate tyre fitment services at the Pretoria undercover fitment centre or at client sites via mobile fitment solutions
Manage nationwide wholesale tyre supply to customer fleet branches, depots and satellite operations
Monitor fleet tyre performance, consumption and replacement cycles to proactively identify upsell and retention opportunities
Drive fleet revenue growth, contract renewals and account penetration
Work closely with operations to ensure rapid turnaround times, reduced vehicle downtime and consistent service delivery
Maintain accurate forecasting, reporting and pipeline management for fleet accounts
Monitor market and competitor activity within the fleet and commercial transport segment

Requirements

Proven experience managing commercial fleet customers within the tyre, automotive, logistics or transport industry
Strong understanding of commercial tyre categories, applications and fitment requirements
Ability to negotiate complex fleet contracts and pricing structures
Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport
Willingness to travel nationally as required

Experience

Minimum 7+ years' experience in fleet sales, B2B account management or commercial tyre sales
Demonstrated success in managing large fleet contracts and long-term customer relationships
Existing network with truck and bus fleets in SA is highly advantageous

Qualifications

Matric (essential)
Relevant business, marketing or sales qualification preferred
