Job Summary
Administer high net worth trusts and related entities by managing, investing, and safeguarding all assets in accordance with the Trust Mandate and legal requirements to ensure optimal benefit for beneficiaries. This role is accountable for the execution of routine tasks and support activities that contribute to service delivery within a business or functional area. The incumbent applies standard procedures, follows defined guidelines, and works under supervision to complete assigned work accurately and efficiently. The role requires attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and the ability to collaborate with team members to meet service standards and customer expectations.
Job Description
KEY FOCUS AREAS
Register clients as taxpayers and manage all correspondence with SARS, including oversight of SARS e-filing, verification of tax return submissions, instruction of tax payments, assessment checks, and audit record maintenance.
Prepare and send client communications—such as welcome letters and needs analysis forms—in accordance with the Trust Manual, and ensure all required documentation is submitted to the Master of the High Court.
Provide security to the Master of the High Court by completing insurance documentation and arranging premium payments as required.
Arrange insurance for fixed properties, ensure annual premium payments, and manage all trust assets in compliance with the Trust Deed.
Maintain regular communication with clients, municipalities, brokers, and insurance companies, and manage all client correspondence and daily communications.
Review investment portfolios regularly to ensure compliance with investment policies, create investment proposals for new funds, and present recommendations to the Investment Committee.
Instruct administration on approved investments, maintain investment records, and ensure liquidity by coordinating the timely realization of investments with investment managers.
Calculate and instruct the collection of all applicable fees (acceptance, distribution, management, income tax) and reconcile accounts by checking monthly risk reports and implementing corrections as needed.
Prepare and verify year-end financial statements, ensure their distribution to beneficiaries, and follow up on outstanding documentation.
Conduct general filing, prepare termination statements for trusts to be closed, verify calculations, instruct final payments, and archive terminated files.
