Vacancy: Lead Solar Panel Installer (Commercial & Residential)
Location: Pretoria, Gauteng
GX Energy is looking for an experienced Lead Solar Panel Installer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience in solar panel installations and be capable of leading installation teams on both commercial and residential projects while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Minimum Requirements
- Proven experience as a Solar Panel Installer, with experience leading installation teams.
- Relevant solar installation training or qualifications will be advantageous.
- Proven experience with solar panel, battery, and inverter installations.
- Experience with both commercial and residential solar installations.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Sound knowledge of SANS 10142 and relevant health and safety regulations.
- Valid South African driver's licence.
- Ability to work independently as well as lead and motivate a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Must be fluent in Afrikaans, both spoken and written.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead installation teams on commercial and residential solar projects.
- Install solar panels, mounting structures, inverters, battery storage systems, and related equipment.
- Ensure installations are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company quality standards.
- Assist with site planning, material management, and workflow coordination.
- Perform fault finding, repairs, and maintenance on existing solar systems when required.
- Ensure all installations comply with applicable safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Provide professional customer service and maintain clear communication on project sites.
- Complete projects within the required timeframes while maintaining exceptional workmanship.
