Full Job Description

Job Purpose

BIL seeks to employ a warehouse Superintendent who will be reporting to the Facility Manager, the successful candidate will have full knowledge of warehouse operations and problem solving abilities. The candidate must be proactive, self-starting, seizes opportunities and takes responsibility for actions.

Qualifications & Experience

Matric
Tertiary Qualification in Supply Chain/Logistics/Operations Management would be beneficial
3 Years in Warehouse Management
Receiving / Dispatching / Operation Warehouse Skills/ Strong Administration Skills
Intermediate MS Office, understanding of Warehouse management systems, working knowledge on SAP and WMS RF scanning systems would be beneficial.

Key Responsibilities

Operations
Ensuring that all check pool KPI's are met and maintained in accordance with customer requirements and ensure that they are known and understood by all staff.
Ensuring that expired stock are monitored and removed from storage area.
Ensuring that warehouse storage areas are maintained and in good condition.
Ensuring that all incoming stock are checked in accordance with QA standards.
Ensure the Compiling of the daily stock report and distribution thereof.
Ensuring that all collection & packing notifications are updated and available in real time.
Monitoring that packing completion targets are met.
Ensure that regular operations meetings are held with staff to mangage output and expectations.
Encourage continuous improvement of service.
Ensure the effective servicing & maintenance of all vehicles and equipment within department.
Ensure that the department aligns itself to the BIL corporate framework and that all signage and uniforms uphold the image of BIL.
Apply Team leadership skills to improve staff output
Oversee planning operation to ensure good customer service and timeous deliveries.
Ensuring that daily updates are given to management and were required action has been taken

Reporting
Ensure ontime submission of monthly management reports
Measure Productivity Performance, record statistical data and compile Daily reports with graphs.
Obtain all relevant information for daily completion of the KPI Report for all Clients
Ensure all exception reports are reviewd daily and feedback provided to Facility Manager
Daily, Weekly and Monthly measurement and reporting of KPI Achievement.
Monthly reporting to Facility Manager of Cycle count results.

People Management
Ensure KPI's for subordinates are met.
Identifies training needs and employees with potential for advancement on the basis of work performance.
Compile training needs analysis and encourage staff development.
Conduct job specific training and complete BIL Record of Training for new employees .
Ensure leave days of staff not to exceed more than 15 days of leave per staff member.
Manage absenteeism in accordance with company procedures and ensure BIL code of conduct are understood and not transgressed by.
Ensure all staff within facility comply with correct daily use of PPE and uniforms.
Ensure general well being of personnel, including discipline.
