Position: Project Manager (Civil and Construction)

Job Purpose
We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of civil engineering and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects from inception to completion, ensuring that all works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards while maintaining compliance with all contractual, statutory, and client requirements.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) or Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Civil Engineering.
- A minimum of 5–10 years' proven experience in construction and civil engineering project management.
- Registered with SACPCMP as a Construction Project Manager (Pr.CPM) or Construction Manager, or
- Registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) or Professional Engineering Technologist (Pr. Tech. Eng.).
- Extensive experience managing roads, earthworks, municipal infrastructure, or other civil engineering projects.
- Sound knowledge of construction contracts (FIDIC, GCC, NEC or JBCC).
- Strong understanding of project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and cost control.
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Construction Regulations, and environmental legislation.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project or Primavera).
- Valid Code B driver's licence.
- Willingness to travel and work on various project sites.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and manage civil engineering projects from initiation through to completion.
- Develop and monitor project programme, budgets, cash flows, and resource plans.
- Ensure projects are completed within scope, budget, quality, and contractual requirements.
- Manage contractors, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, and project teams.
- Lead site meetings and coordinate all project stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, engineering standards, and applicable legislation.
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety, environmental, and quality management requirements.
- Prepare and submit project reports, progress reports, financial reports, and client updates.
- Manage procurement processes and monitor contract performance.
- Review and certify work completed for payment purposes where applicable.
- Resolve technical, contractual, and operational issues affecting project delivery.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, consultants, regulatory authorities, and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure proper documentation and record management throughout the project lifecycle.
- Mentor and supervise engineers, site agents, foremen, and technical staff.
- Drive continuous improvement and ensure achievement of project performance targets.
