Sales Consultant Advanced Wound Care: Polokwane

What will you be doing?
This is a hybrid sales and clinical support role within the Advanced Wound Management division. The successful candidate will be responsible for the successful promotion, sale and clinical support of the product portfolio across hospitals, surgeons, private nurse practitioners and other healthcare stakeholders.
This territory requires a strong clinical background, particularly in theatre environments, as well as the ability to engage confidently with experienced specialists and deliver high-quality technical and clinical support.
The role reports to the Regional Sales Manager and requires a strong understanding of wound care, product application and patient pathways to support optimal treatment outcomes.
What will you need to be successful?
- Achieve and exceed sales targets within the allocated territory
- Develop and maintain structured call cycles aligned to theatre lists and customer appointments
- Build strong relationships across:
- Private and mine hospitals
- Surgical specialties
- PNPs and podiatrists
- Other designated healthcare outlets
- Conduct product detailing, in-service training and workshops for healthcare professionals
- Provide hands-on clinical support in theatre and ward environments
- Ensure correct product application and customer understanding of the portfolio
- Attend ward rounds to provide clinical advice and identify new opportunities
- Monitor competitor activity and provide market insights
- Maintain accurate customer records, call reports and activity tracking
- Develop and execute quarterly business plans to ensure full territory coverage
- Identify new business opportunities and expand product usage
- Support NPWT processes, including:
- Patient case administration and documentation (EPATS)
- Authorisation submissions and reimbursement coordination
- PNP onboarding, training and invoicing
- Liaison with funders and reimbursement teams
- Case follow-up and reporting
- Manage consignment stock, including:
- Monthly stock counts
- Resolving discrepancies within 48 hours
- Maintaining stock within acceptable variance levels
- Support product availability, including emergency deliveries where required
- Participate in congresses, sales meetings and cycle reviews
- Prepare and present quarterly activity reviews
- Ensure full compliance with company policies, including:
- Quality Assurance and Regulatory requirements
- Health, Safety & Environment standards
- Timely reporting of product complaints
Successful candidates would need the following:
- Degree in Health Sciences
- Valid South African driver’s licence
- 2 to 5 years’ experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical Industry
- Crice Certified
- Experience working in theatre and high-pressure clinical environments
- Experience in Advanced Wound Management would be advantageous
- Must reside in Polokwane and be able to travel within Limpopo
