Manage day to day Logistics Operations
- Schedule and provide support and guidance during daily run planning sessions with the relevant parties.
- Coordinate and authorize the rescheduling of runs.
- Coordinate with the Fleet Controllers to repair and replace all operational equipment.
- Monitor operational execution status and implement contingency plans when required in your designated area.
- Provide input and support to the Project team with all new Logistics related projects as and when required to do so.
- Collaborate with the Regional Route Planner to initiate corrective measures for non-adherence to route compliance.
- Oversee and ensure that all Team Controller: Logistics deliver and achieve SLA requirements, supervise and conduct regular meetings with the Team Controller: Logistics
- Oversee the creation and rotation plans for spot checks and oversee that the implementation occurs to mitigate losses.
- Monitor and evaluate operations in line with business rules, resource planning & allocation to route plans for daily operations.
- Verify route execution data against Logistics national benchmarks to determine and improve performance and create efficiencies.
Firearms, Asset and Infrastructure Management
- Responsible for asset and infrastructure management in accordance with agreed policies and procedures.
- Monitor that Firearms and Asset Control Officers are adhering to SBV compliance monthly, through the validation of certificates.
- Provide authorization of Firearms Vault access.
- Monitor, oversee and conduct weekly spot checks of registers, permits and paperwork.
- Drive adherence to firearm related SOPs and legislation.
- Engage in one-on-one sessions with Firearms and Asset Control Officers monthly to complete self-assessments relating to the control of the Gun vault.
- Provide approval for all new equipment that needs to be ordered and submit to procurement for ordering.
Develop, Enhance and Maintain Customer Relationships
- Verify that the Logistics structure within the centre is resourced correctly to deliver on customer requirements.
- Maintain internal and external relationships.
- Deal all complex customer queries ensuring resolution within agreed upon turnaround times, providing reports to internal stakeholders like Customer, Management, etc.
- Coordinate the resolution of customer queries with the Client Liaison Department.
- Facilitate client feedback sessions to employees.
- Monitor customer relationship and operational on-boarding of new services at centres.
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of an optimised vehicle scheduling and dispatch system to meet client and market requirements.
Risk Management
- Demonstrate operational compliance in line with legislation, Risk and Audit.
- Coordinate risk assessments for SBV service points when required.
- Initiate and coordinate SBV Risk Business Continuity plans when required per incident type.
- Conduct audits and weekly spot checks to ensure operational to SOP. Verify that the centre adheres to standard operating procedures and escalate non-compliance as per DoA.
- Coordinate all intelligence received for escalation to the risk department.
- Apply for operational dispensation with the Risk department when requested by the Team Controller: Logistics.
- Initiate “High Alert” status in relation to SBV Resources with Risk Management Centre.
- Provide input and support where necessary, to the Logistics Controller with regards to obtaining and utilising security and environmental information to minimise risk Draft, implement and maintain ATM contingency plans for the Centre in conjunction with Logistics/Centre Manager and Regional Device Specialist to cover all eventualities in respect of risk and resources.
- Communicate and enforce all Logistics internal procedures to staff in writing and obtain acknowledgement of receipt that the procedures and policies have been read and understood.
- Deliver on recommendations in terms of mitigating the risk factors identified.
- Oversee and monitor compliance to minimum security standard requirements for the ATM and its environment.
- Investigate and report all losses, potential losses and differences to the relevant stakeholders and include this information on the relevant systems.
- Report and provide support into the investigation process in collaboration with the Risk team.
- Oversee that the correct process in terms of orders and deposits for reconciliation and risk mitigation is adhered to.
Provide Assistance with the Finance and Budget Controls
- Compile and provide daily, weekly and monthly/ad-hoc operational reporting within one’s area.
- Allocate overtime to the correct cost centre on the time and attendance system.
- Responsible for the adherence to budgets directly under his/her control.
- Oversee and validate the integrity of captured data resulting in timeous and accurate billing to customers.
- Provides input/information related to Logistics expenditure to the Logistics/Centre Manager.
- Compile and implement recommendations and plans for centre initiatives with a focus on profit generation.
Reporting & Administration
- Consolidate and submit weekly/monthly MIS reports.
- Confirm Run Schedules obtained from Team Controller: Logistics
- Collect and report on daily service failure and incidents reports.
- Oversee the administration systems within the centre and record information relating to Logistics.
- Supervise the effective set up of a filing system for the storage of Logistics administration is aligned with company policy.
People Management
- Provide leadership to employees within SBV.
Creates a conducive environment which translates into productivity and high morale within SBV.
- Inspire one’s team to deliver on key performance areas.
- Drive the employee value proposition of SBV.
- Adhere to legislative requirements and SBV policies and procedures.
- Provide assistance to guide the focus on talent to instil value creation for high value contributors.
- Manage one’s headcount in alignment with the principles and policies of SBV on a monthly basis. Inclusive of notifying HR of team cancellations, new business and new initiatives with the relevant documentation /approvals;
- Assists with the Talent Management Process within one’s centre/s.
- Assists with the performance management process of employees.
- Adhere to legislative requirements, company policies and procedures in respect of employment Health and safety practices.
- Responsible for employees to undergo the relevant training inclusive of any mandatory refreshers in conjunction with the Training Academy.
- Draft and execute training plans in conjunction with the Training Academy
- Drive leave management in alignment with SBV Policy:
oManage, monitor and report absenteeism daily and report on monthly trends.
oVerify and approve all leave on the ESS system within policy timelines.
oManage leave planning and leave discussion via the applicable system.
- Drive the daily management of the Time and Attendance system specifically in terms of:
oVerifying the Scheduling of employees on a rotational basis.
oApproving of the overtime of the teams allocated.
oVerifying and approving of pay codes and acting allowances on the system.
Drive the organisation culture within one’s centre
- Drive the department’s values while inspiring confidence and generating excitement, enthusiasm and commitment towards the mission.
- Serve as a leader of the culture program driving the desired behaviours and encouraging employee engagement.
- Implement strategies in collaboration with Change Management & HR to evaluate and maintain employee satisfaction.
- Aid Transformation and BBB-EE initiatives to confirm sustainable alignment to the company scorecard.
Provide leadership to employees within the organisation, creating a winning culture and high morale, lead as an Ambassador and Executor of Change
- Act as a change management architect in periods of change to maintain continuity to operations.
- Effectively communicate and embed new processes and procedures as they occur addressing or escalating matters / concerns to the SME’s (subject matter experts) when required.
- Facilitate the necessary presentations, workshops or forums to ensure consistent and accurate communication is given across one’s centre/s.
Minimum Requirements: Work Experience
5 years’ experience in Logistics or Security or Supply Chain or Cash Environment of which:
3 years must be in a supervisory position
Minimum Requirements: Education
Grade 12 or equivalent
Diploma or formal qualification in Supply Chain/ Logistics / Risk/ Financial Management will be advantageous

PSIRA Grade A
Firearm Competency (FCA60 of 2000)
Ms Word, Excel and Outlook – Intermediate
Valid code 08 driver’s licence with PDP
