Job Title: Finance Officer
Department: Finance Department
Location: Northern Cape, Kuruman Office
Reporting To: Finance Manager
Role Summary:
We are seeking a competent and results-driven Finance Officer to support the Finance Department in the effective financial management of the organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, administering payroll, monitoring budgets and cash flow, ensuring compliance with statutory and internal requirements, and providing reliable financial information to support decision-making.
Minimum Requirements
· Degree in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping, or a related field.
· Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in a finance or accounting environment.
· Experience in payroll administration.
· Proficient in accounting and payroll software and advance Microsoft Excel.
· Knowledge of South African labour legislation, payroll regulations and statutory deductions (PAYE, UIF, SDL)
Key Responsibilities
Financial Administration
· Process and record financial transactions accurately and timeously.
· Maintain the general ledger and accounting records.
· Reconcile bank accounts, creditors, debtors, and other balance sheet accounts.
· Prepare and process payments to suppliers and service providers.
· Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
Payroll Administration
· Process monthly payroll and ensure accuracy of employee earnings and deductions.
· Administer leave, overtime, allowances, and other payroll-related transactions.
· Ensure compliance with statutory deductions including PAYE, UIF, and SDL.
· Prepare payroll reports and reconcile payroll accounts.
· Liaise with employees regarding payroll-related queries.
Budgeting and Reporting
· Assist with the preparation and monitoring of budgets.
· Analyse financial data and provide management reports.
· Monitor expenditure against approved budgets.
· Support internal and external audit processes.
Compliance and Record Keeping
· Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and legislation.
· Support internal and external audit processes by providing reconciled records and evidence on request.
· Maintain underlying data for preferential procurement, skills development and ESD tracking.
