Introduction

Komatsu has an opportunity for a technically minded individual with a passion for heavy earthmoving equipment to assist the artisan with general functions as an Assistant Artisan with at least 8 months’ experience in an Earthmoving Equipment environment to join our team at the Remanufacturing Department.

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 with technical subjects or NQF Level 4
6 months general workshop, technical environment experience /experience working on earthing moving machines.
Basic knowledge of workshop tools and machine repairs
Ability to read, write and speak English, good communication and inter-personal skills.
Valid driver’s licence, Code 08 (advantage)
Basic knowledge of SHE and the Health & Safety Act
Safety‑orientated mindset due to machine and component movement
Passion for Heavy Earthmoving Machinery

Duties and Responsibilities

Machine and component assembly and disassembly
Component and machine cleaning
Basic maintenance and housekeeping duties
May be required to drive Komatsu service vehicles
Operation of Komatsu machines (where trained and authorised)
Willingness to work overtime and standby when required and to travel as needed
Assist artisans in all functional areas
Use of basic tools and understanding of their application
