The Procurement Manager will be responsible for managing the Company’s procurement function, ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of goods and services while maintaining appropriate quality, governance and supplier-performance standards. The successful candidate must understand the operational demands of a mining environment and be able to balance cost control with production-critical requirements.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with operational and financial objectives.
· Manage the sourcing, evaluation, negotiation and appointment of suppliers and service providers.
· Obtain and evaluate quotations and tenders in accordance with Company procedures.
· Negotiate favourable pricing, payment terms, service levels and contractual conditions.
· Manage supplier contracts, pricing agreements and service-level agreements.
· Monitor supplier performance, delivery times, product quality and contractual compliance.
· Ensure the availability of production-critical materials, equipment, consumables and services.
· Work closely with Mining, Engineering, Plant, Finance, Stores and other departments to determine procurement requirements.
· Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety, quality or operational continuity.
· Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier information and supporting documentation.
· Ensure compliance with approved budgets, procurement policies and delegated authority levels.
· Support inventory planning and assist in reducing unnecessary, obsolete or excess stock.
· Manage and develop procurement personnel.
· Identify and mitigate procurement, supply-chain and supplier-related risks.
· Promote ethical procurement practices and prevent conflicts of interest, fraud and unauthorised expenditure.
· Compile procurement reports and provide relevant information to management.
· Support the Company’s transformation, local procurement and supplier-development objectives where applicable.
Minimum Requirements
· A relevant degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Commerce or a related field.
· At least five years’ procurement or supply-chain experience, including experience at a supervisory or management level.
· Previous procurement experience within the mining, engineering, construction or heavy industrial sector is essential.
· Sound knowledge of procurement processes, contract management, tender administration and supplier management.
· Strong commercial, negotiation and analytical skills.
· Computer literacy, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience using procurement, inventory or ERP systems.
· A valid driver’s licence.
· Clear criminal record.

The successful candidate will be appointed on the condition of being certified medically fit as per the Mine Health and Safety Act 29/1996.
Pay: R60 000,00 - R75 000,00 per month
