Role Description The Electrical Technician is a contract, on-site role based in Nelspruit. The role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical equipment and systems in industrial and engineering environments. Day-to-day tasks include performing routine electrical maintenance, diagnosing faults, and troubleshooting issues to minimise downtime. The electrical technician will interpret electrical drawings, assist in the commissioning of new installations, and ensure work complies with safety standards and company procedures. The role also requires accurate documentation of work performed, coordination with engineering and mechanical teams, and proactive identification of improvement opportunities in electrical systems.
Qualifications
- Strong practical skills in electrical maintenance and electrical equipment handling, with the ability to perform scheduled and corrective maintenance tasks.
- Solid understanding of electrical engineering principles relevant to industrial and engineering environments.
- Ability to perform systematic troubleshooting of electrical faults and diagnose issues using appropriate tools and methods.
- Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of applicable electrical safety standards, regulations, and safe work practices.
- A relevant technical qualification or diploma in electrical engineering, electrical technology, or a related field. Instrumentation and PLC experience is an added advantage
- Previous experience as an electrical technician or in a similar role within industrial, construction, or engineering services settings.
- Comfort working on-site around Nelspruit, with flexibility to support project schedules and respond to urgent maintenance needs.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and commitment to quality workmanship.
Pay: R80,00 - R120,00 per hour
