Berea College of Technology, a registered and reputable higher education institution, invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Lecturer for the new Higher Certificate in Engineering (Civil Engineering) programme.

Position: LECTURER – Higher Certificate in Engineering (Civil Engineering)

Nature of Employment: Full-Time/Part-Time/Independent Contractor

Minimum Requirements:

A recognised Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Master's Degree or higher will be an advantage).
Registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) is compulsory.
Relevant teaching, lecturing, or training experience in higher education or professional training environments.
Relevant industry experience within civil engineering, construction, infrastructure development, project management, or related sectors.
Strong knowledge of structural engineering, construction technology, engineering design, and infrastructure systems.
Proficiency in curriculum delivery, assessment, and student support.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and report-writing skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver lectures and facilitate learning within the Higher Certificate in Engineering (Civil Engineering) programme.
Develop lesson plans, learning materials, assessments, and study guides in line with curriculum and regulatory requirements.
Conduct assessments, moderation, and provide academic feedback to students.
Support students' academic development and monitor progress.
Participate in academic administration, student support, and quality assurance processes.
Uphold academic integrity and comply with institutional policies and procedures.
