Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Estimating – Roads, Water & Heavy Civil Infrastructure and the Head of Estimating – Buildings to support both tendering and project procurement activities.

Minimum Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related discipline.

Minimum 10–15 years’ procurement experience in the South African construction industry.

Proven experience supporting estimating teams during tender preparation.

Strong knowledge of construction materials, plant, equipment and subcontract procurement.

Advanced Build Smart experience.

CCS Candy experience will be advantageous.

Excellent commercial, negotiation and organisational skills.

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple high-value tenders simultaneously.

Extensive procurement experience in:

Roads and Highways

Bridges

Tunnels

Dams

Water and Wastewater Infrastructure

Pipelines

Pump Stations

Reservoirs

Geotechnical Engineering

Piling

Lateral Support

Slope Protection and Slope Stabilisation

Commercial Buildings

Industrial Facilities

Residential Developments

Public Infrastructure Projects

Key Responsibilities:

Lead procurement activities during the tender stage for civil and building projects.

Obtain competitive quotations from suppliers, manufacturers and subcontractors.

Negotiate pricing, delivery periods and commercial terms.

Prepare detailed commercial comparisons and procurement recommendations.

Support both estimating departments in developing competitive tender submissions.

Identify value engineering and cost-saving opportunities.

Develop and maintain strategic supplier and subcontractor relationships.

Support the Procurement Manager with procurement for awarded projects.

Procure materials, plant, equipment and subcontractors.

Monitor supplier performance and procurement schedules.

Maintain procurement records using Build Smart.
