Role Overview

We are seeking a mid-to-senior Business Data Support Specialist to champion data accessibility, transparency, and

integrity across our organisation. The role requires the successful applicant to act as a vital bridge between complex

data environments and practical business outcomes.

While technical capability is important, personality, attitude, and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving are the

defining requirements for this role. We want a calculating, self-driven individual with deep domain knowledge in

financial services, specifically within the investment and fund management sectors, who can navigate ambiguous data

requests and deliver clear, actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities

Data Retrieval, Transformation & Delivery

Fielding & Triaging Requests: Serve as the central intake point for ad-hoc data and reporting requests across the

wider group and various departments.

Data Extraction & Cleanse: Locate, extract, and assimilate data from disparate internal systems, ensuring it is

checked, transformed, and structured correctly.

Translating Complexity: Package and deliver data in a relatable, transparent method that tells a clear story to both

technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Service Provider Relationship: Proactively engage with new suppliers to obtain data as required by the business

and manage the relationship and receipt of data and or change requirements with Service providers

Quality Assurance & Problem Solving

Data Integrity: Apply rigorous attention to detail to validate data accuracy and consistency before it leaves your

desk.

Pragmatic Resolution: Proactively identify data gaps or anomalies, utilising a calculating and logical approach to

resolve complex data puzzles efficiently

Stakeholder Engagement

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Business Analysis, Client Support, and operational teams to understand

the commercial context behind data requests.

Expectation Management: Use exceptional interpersonal skills to manage delivery timelines and keep stakeholders

informed.

Experience & Skills

Core Requirements:

Domain Expertise: Solid, demonstrable experience within Financial Services, with specific exposure to Wealth

Management, Fund Management, Collectives, or Administration.

Data Competency: Proven experience manipulating, analysing, and verifying large datasets (strong Excel capability is

essential).

Cross-Functional Experience: A background in Business Analysis, Client Support, or a similar cross-functional

business support environment.

Technical & Advantageous Skills:

Technical Tools: Experience with SQL (for data extraction) and/or Power BI / Tableau (data visualisation tools) are

highly advantageous.

AI Tools: Prior exposure to, or curiosity about, AI tools and prompting to improve daily productivity is a distinct

benefit.

Compliance: Experience with Regulatory Reporting frameworks within financial services.

Pay: R600 000,00 - R900 000,00 per year
