Job Description
The Data Scientist is a specialist skillset within the Quality and Risk team in the Deloitte Audit business. The main purpose of the role is to contribute to the Data related strategic objectives of driving insight driven decision making by contributing to sustainable data governance and data solutions which deliver timely, complete and accurate data driven solutions used for monitoring and decision making.

- Ability to understand a technical data landscape with various data sources, to enable the ability to assess proposed data solutions and required development approach.

Logical assessment of complex business problems and proposed data solutions.

Ability to apply sound judgment when developing solutions and identifying opportunities to improve data solutions or data processes (efficiencies, governance, etc.)

Design and development of tailor made SQL solutions that enable the automation of processes or controls and enable the monitoring of controls (on-premise and cloud environments).

Development of exception reports and PowerBI dashboards for stakeholders at various levels in the business.

Utilising SQL Stored Procedures and automated SQL Server Agent Jobs to create schedules that maintain reporting and automated controls.

Effective incident management and root cause analysis to ensure timely resolution of incidents.

Connecting data from various systems in a logical and sustainable way to facilitate cross system reporting.

Stakeholder management at various levels across the business.

Data transformation and interpretation.

Effective project and task management of allocated tasks as well as adhoc data queries by being agile when needed.

Ability to take ownership of allocated tasks from a project management perspective as well as a self-review perspective to ensure solutions are sustainably developed, addresses key data governance considerations and addresses the full business requirement.
Qualifications

Degree in Statistics/Computer Science/ Engineering/ Mathematics (or combination of).
Experience
-
3-6 years relevant experience.

Expert level knowledge of SQL.
-
Advanced EXCEL.
-
Experience using PowerBI or similar tools.

Cloud experience (advantageous).

Microsoft Power Platform experience (advantageous).

Visual Studio.
-
Demonstrated ability to identify problems and provide solution.
