SENIOR LECTURER/LECTURER (REF: A348)
APPOINTMENT AT A SENIOR LECTURER LEVEL
A PhD in Education with demonstrable background in foundational disciplines in education (History, Philosophy, and/or Sociology of Education). A minimum of five (5) years’ teaching experience at a recognised tertiary institution, or at least seven (7) years’ relevant professional experience in the field. A sustained research profile, including at least five (5) publications in accredited peer-reviewed journals. Evidence of postgraduate supervision at Honours and/or Master’s level; experience supervising doctoral candidates will be an added advantage. Experience in curriculum development, programme review, and academic administration within a higher education context.
DUTIES
Teach and assess undergraduate and postgraduate modules in the foundational disciplines mentioned above. Supervise Honours, Master’s, and Doctoral students. Contribute to curriculum development, review, and transformation within the department. Maintain an active research profile and publish in accredited peer-reviewed journals. Participate in community engagement and scholarly outreach initiatives. Utilise blended learning approaches and digital platforms to enhance teaching and learning.
APPOINTMENT AT LECTURER LEVEL
A Master’s degree in Education with demonstrable background in foundational disciplines in education (History, Philosophy, and/or Sociology of Education). A minimum of three (3) years’ teaching experience at a recognised tertiary institution, or at least five (5) years’ relevant professional experience in the field. Evidence of an emerging research profile, including peer-reviewed journal publications. Willingness to contribute to postgraduate supervision under mentorship.
