VACANCY: FINANCIAL MANAGER
The Sernick Group has a position available for a Financial Manager at our Head Office in Kroonstad. The position reports directly to the Joint CEO’s of the Sernick Group.
We are looking to hire a dedicated and motivated financial manager to represent the Sernick Group. Sernick is a diversified organisation with its focus on agriculture and agricultural processing activities.
You will be supported by a highly experienced finance team and work closely with our executive management team to transform our operational strategies into reality by supporting operating unit heads with your financial expertise.
To excel in this role, you should have an analytical mind, and a keen understanding of how a business works in the real world not just on paper.
Requirements:
· BCom Accounting degree.
· Five years’ prior accounting experience and completed articles with any of the following regulatory bodies: SAICA, SAIPA or SAIBA.
· CA(SA) will count in your favour.
· Good analytical skills and highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
· Caseware experience will be advantageous.
· The Sernick Group operates in the Agri environment and applicants therefore need to be able to speak, read and write in both English and Afrikaans at an advanced level.
· Own transport and a valid code EB (Code 08) drivers’ licence.
· Clean criminal record.

Responsibilities:
· Prepare and maintain general ledger accounts.
· Perform balance sheet and income statement reconciliations.
· Assist with month-end and year-end reporting processes.
· Prepare and analyse financial information and support schedules.
· Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
· Assist with audit preparation and audit-related queries.
· Support statutory compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
· Assist with ad hoc finance and reporting duties as required.
· Providing insights on the financial health of the operating unit responsible for through monthly management accounts and annual financial statements.
· Day-to-day cashflow- and capital allocation management.
· Group asset management including insurance.
· Produce long-term business plans.
· Develop and manage budgets and financial systems/models.
· Carry out business modelling and risk assessment.
