Software Developer
Midrand – Monday to Friday 8 to 5. Occasional weekend work may be required.
Salary R60 000 – R80 000 pm
Manage company software daily (specialised App), fix bugs, enhancements, ad hoc work.
Mid-level full-stack developer with 5+ years’ experience, ideally someone who is strong across both backend and frontend development, with a stronger focus on backend, databases, cloud infrastructure, and event-driven systems.
Strong TypeScript skills – key requirement. Solid backend experience in Node.js/NestJS, Prisma, API / service-based development.
Frontend experience with React, React Native, TypeScript-based frontend development
Good working knowledge of PostgreSQL/MySQL, and practical exposure to AWS, Terraform, and SQS-based event-driven services.
Strong database skills, specifically: PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL queries, joins, aggregations, reporting queries and general database performance awareness.
Cloud and infrastructure experience with: AWS, Terraform, Infrastructure as Code
Experience with messaging queues and event-driven architecture, specifically -
AWS SQS, Queue-based processing. Events being fired and consumed by backend services.
Understanding retries, failures, and asynchronous processing would be beneficial.
The candidate must understand how event-driven services work, as the RICA gateway operates off events that are fired and processed through queues
The role is not purely frontend-focused; the candidate needs to be comfortable with backend development, databases, infrastructure, and event-driven systems
