About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an intern to join the Digital Marketing team at our B2B office in Woodmead, Johannesburg. This is a 12-month internship programme, and the ideal candidate must be available to start from 1 October 2026.

Unlike a generalist marketing role, this position is specifically focused on the technical and systems side of marketing. Our four-person team currently handles social media management, paid advertising, email marketing, analytics, SEO, and website maintenance — but we need dedicated capacity to build the internal systems, automation, and tracking infrastructure that connect these activities together. You will report to the Digital Marketing Lead and work closely with colleagues across Sales, Editorial, and Graphics.

What You’ll Be Doing

Your work will focus on building and maintaining the technical infrastructure that underpins our marketing activities. Specifically, you will:

Building internal systems and automating marketing processes that the team can rely on long after the internship ends
Synchronising tools and data across the Marketing team and adjacent departments (Sales, Editorial, and Graphics)
Implementing campaign tracking infrastructure that demonstrates return on investment clearly and consistently
Strengthening SEO foundations and progressing toward advanced, AI-search-ready tactics
Producing clear documentation and handover materials so the team can maintain systems after the placement

This is a sustained, project-based role — you will have the time to design, build, and hand over durable systems rather than produce short-term fixes.

What We’re Looking For

Essential

A qualification in IT, computer science, software development, or a related technical discipline
Comfort with logical systems, databases, or basic programming — more valuable to us than marketing experience alone
Strong documentation habits and the ability to explain technical work clearly to non-technical colleagues
A collaborative, curious approach to working across departments (Marketing, Sales, Editorial, and Graphics)
Based in Johannesburg and able to commute to the Woodmead office daily

Advantageous

Practical or coursework exposure to automation, integration, or data-handling concepts (e.g. connecting different software tools, working with structured data, or basic scripting)
Some familiarity with the WordPress website platform and an understanding of SEO fundamentals
An interest in how technology intersects with marketing and business operations, even if your formal experience to date has been in a technical rather than marketing environment
An interest in or knowledge of AI and its applications
