Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Architectural Technologist / Senior Architectural Technician with a strong technical background and a minimum of 5 years’ professional experience. The role is suited to someone who is technically focused, detail-driven, and confident in producing high-quality architectural documentation.
This is not a design-led position. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for architectural detailing, construction documentation, tender drawings, planning drawings, council submission drawings, and technical coordination. Presentation drawings and visual work may form part of the role from time to time, but the main focus will be on technical production and accurate documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed architectural drawings using Revit and AutoCAD.
- Produce construction drawings, tender drawing packages, council submission drawings, and planning drawings.
- Develop detailed technical drawings, sections, elevations, schedules, and construction details.
- Assist with drawing coordination between architectural, structural, civil, and other consultant information.
- Prepare and update drawing packs in line with project requirements and client instructions.
- Ensure drawings are accurate, coordinated, clearly presented, and technically sound.
- Assist with detailing of residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects.
- Review and incorporate mark-ups, consultant comments, and site-related feedback.
- Support the preparation of documentation for pricing, construction, approval, and tender purposes.
- Maintain organised drawing files, Revit models, CAD files, and issue records.
- Assist with presentation drawings where required, although this is not the primary focus of the role.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in an architectural technologist / architectural technician role.
- Strong proficiency in Revit.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Good technical knowledge of architectural detailing and construction documentation.
- Experience preparing planning, council submission, tender, and construction drawing packages.
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently under deadlines.
- Good understanding of building construction, materials, coordination, and drawing standards.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility for drawing production.
- Good communication skills and ability to coordinate with consultants and team members.
Advantageous Skills
- Experience with SketchUp.
- Experience with Enscape.
- Ability to prepare clean presentation drawings.
- Experience with 3D modelling and visual presentation work.
- Experience in Residential developments, alterations and additions, commercial work, or mixed-use projects.
- International project experience, particularly exposure to UK, Irish, European, or other international architectural documentation standards, will be considered a strong advantage.
- Experience working with overseas consultants, international drawing standards, or cross-border architectural projects.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a technically minded architectural professional who enjoys documentation, detailing, and drawing production. You should be comfortable working from concept information, mark-ups, consultant drawings, and existing project information to produce accurate and buildable architectural documentation.
This role would suit someone who is organized, reliable, practical, and technically strong, with the ability to manage drawing packages and assist in moving projects through planning, tender, and construction documentation stages.
Salary
Salary will be negotiable and based on experience, technical ability, and software proficiency.
