Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Book Sales & Global Distribution Manager responsible for uploading, managing, and maintaining book listings across international online platforms, retail bookstores, and e-commerce systems.
This role ensures that all books are properly distributed, priced, and available for purchase worldwide (not limited to South Africa).
Compensation Structure Trial Period (90 Days)
- Fixed pay: R8,000 per month
Commission Structure
- Commission per book sold (structure based on platform and sales channel)
- Performance target: 100+ book sales per month (across all titles and platforms)
- Bonus opportunities for high-performing sales channels and bulk orders
Key Responsibilities
1. GLOBAL ONLINE DISTRIBUTION (PRIMARY)
Upload and manage books on international platforms including but not limited to:
- Amazon KDP
- Kindle Store
- Barnes & Noble (online store)
- Apple Books (if applicable)
- Google Books (if applicable)
- Draft2Digital
- Other global ebook and print platforms
Ensure correct formatting, metadata, pricing, and publishing compliance.
2. SOUTH AFRICAN & LOCAL ONLINE PLATFORMS
- Takealot
- Other South African e-commerce platforms (where applicable)
- Ensure listings are accurate and optimised for visibility and sales
3. RETAIL BOOKSTORE DISTRIBUTION (WHERE POSSIBLE)
- Submit and manage listings with:
- Exclusive Books
- CNA
- CUM Books
- Other bookstore chains and distributors
- Understand submission requirements and onboarding processes
4. BETHEL ONLINE STORE MANAGEMENT
- Upload and manage books on Bethel Publishing online store
- Organise catalogue by author, genre, and series
- Ensure all books are available and purchasable
5. PRICING & GLOBAL SALES MANAGEMENT
- Set and manage pricing across all platforms
- Ensure consistency across international markets (USD, GBP, ZAR, etc.)
- Adjust pricing for campaigns, promotions, and launches
- Support revenue optimisation strategies
6. PHYSICAL BOOK SALES & FULFILMENT
- Coordinate printing and distribution of physical books
- Manage bulk orders (local and international)
- Support book tours, events, and direct client sales
- Track inventory and fulfilment logistics
7. LISTING OPTIMISATION & SALES PERFORMANCE
- Write and optimise book descriptions for global sales conversion
- Use SEO keywords for international discoverability
- Monitor performance across all platforms
- Provide regular sales and listing reports
Ideal Candidate Profile
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in e-commerce, publishing, or global product distribution
- Skilled in uploading and managing listings across multiple platforms
- Familiar with Amazon KDP and international bookstore systems
- Detail-oriented and highly organised
- Comfortable working independently across global systems
- Sales-aware and performance-driven
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in publishing, e-commerce, or digital product distribution
- Ability to manage multiple international platforms simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail (pricing, metadata, formatting)
- Own laptop and reliable internet connection
- Ability to work remotely and report weekly
- Strong communication and accountability
Work Structure
- Part-time / flexible remote role
- 90-day trial period
- Weekly reporting required
- South Africa-based preferred (global platforms responsibility)
