Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and motivated Outbound Sales Call Centre Supervisor/Team Leader to join our dynamic Australian-based finance and property company, and manage, coach and drive performance of a growing telemarketing team. In this role, you will lead a team of outbound sales representatives, working remotely. Your leadership will inspire your team to achieve targets, and foster strong client relationships.
This is a sales-focused, appointment setting environment, not a customer service role. You will be responsible for getting the best performance from your team, improving booking results and ensuring that daily and weekly KPIs are consistently achieved.
The Ideal Candidate
You must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience managing or supervising an outbound sales team.
Ideally, you will have:
- 2+ years’ experience as a Team Leader, Supervisor or Sales Manager in an outbound call centre
- Experience in finance, mortgages, property or financial services highly regarded
- A proven track record of managing appointment setters or outbound sales agents against KPIs
- Strong understanding of sales conversion, bookings per hour, contact rates and appointment show rates
- Experience listening to calls and coaching staff on scripts, rapport, objection handling and closing
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate people while also holding them accountable
- Experience managing both high performers and underperforming staff
- Good CRM and dialler/call-monitoring experience
- Strong reporting, organisational and communication skills
- A genuinely hands-on management style
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the day-to-day performance of the telemarketing team, including:
- Managing, motivating and supporting outbound appointment setters
- Monitoring daily and weekly individual and team KPIs
- Tracking attempted calls, contact rates, bookings, bookings per hour and show rates
- Providing one-on-one coaching, feedback and training
- Training staff on scripts, qualification, objection handling and appointment setting
- Running regular team training and sales sessions
- Conducting quality control calls with clients
- Making outbound appointment confirmation phone calls with clients to confirm upcoming webinars and one on one appointments
- Identifying underperformance quickly and implementing improvement plans
- Developing and rewarding high-performing staff
- Monitoring attendance, punctuality, productivity and idle time
- Ensuring leads are followed up correctly and efficiently
- Ensuring CRM records and call outcomes are accurately maintained
- Working with senior management to continually improve scripts, systems and processes
- Providing clear reporting on individual and overall call-centre performance
- Assisting with the recruitment and training of new staff
Hours
Monday to Friday: 6:30am – 2:30pm South African time
40 hours per week
The team calls Australian customers, so applicants must be comfortable working early South African hours.
Working hours may change slightly during the year due to Australian daylight-saving changes and operational requirements.
Salary & Performance Bonus
Base salary: R240,000 per annum (R20,000 per month)
PLUS performance bonuses of approximately R1,650+ per week.
A high-performing supervisor who consistently achieves their targets therefore has the opportunity to earn approximately:
R325,800+ per annum including performance bonuses.
The bonus structure will be based on measurable call-centre performance and is designed to strongly reward a supervisor who can consistently get results from their team.

We are not looking for someone who simply monitors a sales floor and produces reports.
We want someone who is comfortable being actively involved with their team every day — listening to calls, identifying problems, coaching staff, motivating the team and taking responsibility for results.
You should be able to look at the numbers and quickly determine:
Who is performing? Who isn’t? Why? And what can we do today to improve the result?
