Full Job Description

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Architect or Draughtsperson to support the design and approval of an industrial development project.

This is a flexible, project-based opportunity suited to a professional who is currently employed, operates an independent practice, or is retired but still active in the industry. We value the concept of fractional professionals accessing specialist expertise without the need for full-time employment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for taking the project from concept stage through to municipal approval.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct site and project requirement assessments.
Develop conceptual and detailed building plans.
Prepare all architectural and technical drawings required for submission.
Ensure compliance with applicable municipal regulations, building standards, and zoning requirements.
Coordinate and manage the municipal submission process.
Address municipal comments and requests for amendments.
Liaise with engineers and other specialists where required.
Obtain final municipal approval of building plans.
Provide regular progress updates throughout the project.

Minimum Requirements

Qualification in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Draughting, or a related field.
Proven experience preparing and submitting building plans for municipal approval.
Strong knowledge of municipal approval processes and building regulations.
Proficiency in relevant design and drafting
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent communication and project management skills.
