POSITION OVERVIEW
Based at our Gauteng branch , in oder to further strengthen our Quality team , we are currently seeking a:
QC TECHNOLOGIST – ( Johannesburg, South Africa )
Reporting directly to the QC Manager , the successful candidate for this key function will be responsible for:
- Ensure quality, food safety and aesthetics of the product.
- Follow through on set processes and ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety, Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards and product quality standards.
III. – KEY TASKS
- Responsible for monitoring and product food safety and quality throughout the manufacturing process.
- Responsible for monitoring critical control points (CCP).
- Responsible for performing sanitation verification and allergen testing on equipment and other areas required.
- Responsible for performing sanitation verification and allergen testing on equipment and other areas required.
- Responsible for the correct recording and filing of all relevant record logs and Documentation.
- Perform QC analysis on raw material, in process and finished goods
- Participate in internal audits, GMP audits, process verification audits
- Ensures employees are following all Food Safety and worker safety practices.
- Ensures and educates employees on food safety and SQF standards.
- Responsible to issue disciplinary action when directed.
- Maintain lab retention sample
- Maintain sampling plan for all products.
- Perform inspections on Products, Equipment and Machinery.

IV. – JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Matric and Degree or a National Diploma in Food Technology or relevant qualification
- At least 1 – 2 years’ proven experience in QC - food manufacturing environment
- Proven analytical strengths and experience
- Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Creative, innovative, and service-oriented with a collaborative mindset
- Good communication skills - English is a prerequisite - ability to read and write; additional language(s) an advantage.
- Written comprehension – the ability to read and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
Good personality, hardworking, teamwork, service orientated, creative, innovative, trustworthy, open to learn from feedback.
