-Welder/General Worker/Spray Painter-

Metal Fabrication Role:

Working with mild steel, aluminium, general work, maintenance and construction tasks, Involving distinct techniques due to differences in melting points, weight, and material properties.

Key responsibilities:

Welding, cutting, machining, bending, drilling, sawing.

Welding & Finishing

Grinding & Deburring: Use appropriate grinding discs and finishing tools to remove burrs, smooth edges, and clean weld splatter.
Material Care: Maintain strict separation of grinding and brushing tools to eliminate cross-contamination and galvanic corrosion

General Shop Tasks

Material Handling: Move, sort, lift and organize mild steel and aluminium tools and stock across areas.
Quality Control: Inspect finished parts against technical drawings using callipers, tape measures, and gauges.
Routine Maintenance: Clean machinery, clear scrap metal, and perform basic daily maintenance, health housekeeping and safety checks on assigned equipment.

Requirements:

Own reliable transport/matric or equivalent/Forklift licence/OHS/First aid/Fire marshal knowledge
2-5 years proven experience operating machines, grinders, saws, general maintenance tools and machinery in a metal fabrication environment.
2-5 years’ experience with strong understanding of the differences in handling, bending, and grinding mild steel versus aluminium.
Safety Mindset: Safety protocols, including the correct use of PPE and fume extraction systems.
Physical Stamina: Capability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods.
