KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Safely operate 16-ton (or larger) Telehandlers during conveyor structure moves, extensions, and related activities
- Assist with lifting, positioning, and relocation of conveyor structures, pontoons, anchor blocks, and heavy components
- Support belt pulling operations and material handling on site
- Perform daily pre-use inspections, basic maintenance, and report any defects immediately
- Work closely with Millwrights, Boilermakers, Artisan Aids, and the Supervisor to execute tasks efficiently and safely
- Comply with all mine health and safety standards, including red permit area protocols and gas area requirements
- Participate in toolbox talks, risk assessments, and safety observations
- Maintain a clean and organised work area and ensure proper housekeeping at all times
REQUIREMENTS
- Valid TETA (or equivalent) Telehandler Operator Certificate – minimum 16-ton lifting capacity
- Minimum 3 years operating experience in mining, construction, or heavy industrial environments
- Valid driver’s licence (Code 10 or 14 will be advantageous)
- Medical fitness certificate (red permit / gas area fitness preferred, or willingness to obtain)
- Strong safety record with a clear understanding of mine health and safety standards
- Ability to work shifts and extended hours when required during critical project phases
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Physically fit and able to work in outdoor mining conditions
ADVANTAGEOUS
- Previous experience on conveyor moves, extensions, or heavy lifting projects in open-cast mining
- Prior experience in mining operations
