Role Overview
The Project Manager – TMS Implementation & Internal Projects is a delivery-focused role responsible for leading and coordinating Treasury Management System (TMS) implementation projects and internal transformation initiatives at TreasuryONE TMS (Pty) Ltd. The role acts as the central point of accountability between clients, internal teams, and technical specialists, driving structured delivery across scope, time, cost, and quality.
The position is suited to an organised, resilient, and delivery-driven individual who thrives on coordinating multiple moving parts, managing stakeholders with competing priorities, and keeping complex implementation projects on track. The Project Manager drives governance, manages risk, and ensures alignment to PMO standards, without performing system configuration or technical implementation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Project Management or a related field.
- A postgraduate qualification in a related field (advantageous).
- PMP or PRINCE2 certification (advantageous).
Experience
- Minimum 3+ years' Project Management experience.
- Proven experience managing structured projects with multiple stakeholders.
- 2+ years in technology implementation or business transformation projects (advantageous).
- Experience within Treasury, Financial Services, or Software Implementation environments (advantageous).
- Exposure to SAAS Enterprise systems (advantageous).
The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid), a track record of delivering structured projects to time, budget, and quality standards, and confidence managing stakeholders across technical and business teams.
Core Responsibilities
Project Delivery and Execution Management
- Lead end-to-end delivery of TMS implementation and internal projects in line with defined scope, timelines, and budgets.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and deliverables tracking.
- Ensure all project milestones are achieved and formally signed off according to agreed timelines.
- Monitor project performance and proactively address deviations from plan.
- Deliver completed projects within agreed scope, timeline, and budget constraints.
Project Governance, Reporting and Controls
- Apply PMO governance frameworks, methodologies, and standards across all projects.
- Maintain RAID logs, change control registers, and project documentation.
- Produce accurate and timely project status reports for internal leadership and clients.
- Ensure compliance with internal reporting standards and audit requirements.
Stakeholder and Communication Management
- Act as the central point of contact for all project stakeholders (internal teams, clients, vendors).
- Facilitate project meetings, steering committees, and status updates.
- Manage stakeholder expectations through clear communication of timelines, risks, and deliverables.
- Drive decision-making by escalating issues appropriately and ensuring resolution.
Resource and Capacity Management
- Coordinate with department heads to allocate and manage project resources effectively.
- Track resource utilisation and ensure alignment with project schedules and priorities.
- Support capacity planning across multiple concurrent projects.
- Monitor project billing milestones where applicable.
Continuous Risk, Quality and Compliance Management
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies proactively.
- Ensure all deliverables meet internal quality standards before client delivery.
- Maintain compliance with governance frameworks and internal controls.
- Implement corrective actions to address project risks and quality gaps.
Continuous Improvement and PMO Development
- Contribute to the enhancement of PMO methodologies, templates, and governance practices.
- Facilitate lessons-learned sessions and implement improvements across projects.
- Support internal initiatives focused on improving delivery efficiency and reporting accuracy.
- Drive adoption of best practices in project execution and stakeholder management.
