Full Job Description

AAH Construction is seeking a qualified and experienced Electrician to perform electrical installations, maintenance, repairs and fault-finding across construction, refurbishment and building-maintenance projects.

The successful candidate must be technically competent, safety-conscious and able to complete electrical work in accordance with applicable regulations and project specifications.

Minimum Requirements

Recognised Electrical Trade Test Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering
Valid Wireman’s Licence
Valid driver’s licence
Relevant practical experience as an Electrician
Experience in electrical installations, maintenance, repairs and fault-finding
Knowledge of electrical safety regulations and compliance requirements
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications
Ability to work independently and as part of a project team
Ability to issue Certificates of Compliance

Key Responsibilities

Install, maintain and repair electrical wiring, lighting, distribution boards, plugs and related systems
Conduct electrical inspections, testing and fault-finding
Diagnose and repair electrical faults
Read and interpret electrical drawings and project specifications
Ensure all electrical work complies with applicable safety standards and regulations
Complete testing, inspection and maintenance records
Report defects, risks and material requirements to the Site Supervisor or Project Manager
Maintain tools, equipment and a safe working environment
Support construction, refurbishment and planned-maintenance projects as required

Skills and Competencies

Strong technical and fault-finding ability
Good knowledge of electrical systems and equipment
Attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure
Good communication and teamwork skills
Strong commitment to health and safety
Reliable, responsible and professional conduct
